Gun Question

I’d like to make the following case: that the ever controversial “right to bear arms” cannot mean that one may carry around a handgun while going to, say, the supermarket. It is akin to one’s natural right to do whatever the hell they want with the personal force they have in the state of nature. This does not have a place in a society; one’s security should be protected by the sovereign making it unnecessary to carry around a weapon (why would you need to carry around a weapon to protect yourself from your fellow citizens who are equally dedicated to your safety as fellow members of the sovereign?). If the need to defend oneself from a foreign invasion becomes necessary, then let us all rise together to battle the evil force, but to personally decide to carry around a weapon is a selfish thing to do as it can only serve a private interest.
